The Evansville Central Bears extended their postseason success on Friday against the Castle Knights. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 51-41. 51 seems to be a good number for Evansville Central as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Evansville Central found their leader in underclassman Madalynn Shirley, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Shirley has scored at least a third of Evansville Central's points. Another player making a difference was Mya Skelton, who scored 12 points.
Evansville Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. As for Castle, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
Evansville Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Evansville North is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Castle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
