After two games on the road, Steinbrenner is heading back home. They will take on the Newsome Wolves at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Steinbrenner focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
Steinbrenner managed to keep up with Sunlake until halftime, but things quickly went downhill from there. Steinbrenner ended up on the wrong side of a tough 73-49 walloping at the hands of Sunlake. While losing is never fun, Steinbrenner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Sunlake is ranked 239th).
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Justice Momrik and Christopher Murray. Murray had a solid game and scored six points along with three steals and two blocks. Meanwhile, Momrik was balling out in the loss, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds.
Newsome posted their biggest victory since December 22, 2023 on Monday. They claimed a resounding 73-41 victory over Strawberry Crest at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Newsome.
Steinbrenner dropped their record down to 1-18 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Newsome, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
