Paraclete has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Sacred Heart of Jesus Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Paraclete suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Thursday. They were outmatched by St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at home and fell 71-25. Paraclete has struggled against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Sacred Heart of Jesus' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 55-31 loss at the hands of Ramona Convent. While losing is never fun, Sacred Heart of Jesus can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 794th, while Ramona Convent is ranked 236th).
The losing side was boosted by Xitlali Botts, who almost dropped a triple-double on nine points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Genevee Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Paraclete's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Sacred Heart of Jesus, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
Paraclete might still be hurting after the 38-14 defeat they got from Sacred Heart of Jesus when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Botts, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds.
