It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Carolina Forest Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 win over West Ashley. The win was familiar territory for Carolina Forest who now have eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why West Ashley lost, one person who can't be blamed is David Dounian. Despite the final result, he rushed for 152 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry.
Carolina Forest's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for West Ashley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.
Carolina Forest will take on Summerville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Summerville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. West Ashley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
