Make it ten blowout wins for the Mountain View Lobos this season. Everything went their way against San Elizario on Tuesday as Mountain View made off with a 39-17 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Mountain View has posted since November 28, 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Bresais Escalante, who scored ten points along with two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Breann Martinez, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why San Elizario lost, one person who can't be blamed is Maya Contreras. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 70.6% of San Elizario's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, San Elizario struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Mountain View has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for San Elizario, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
