The Robinson Rockets will venture away from home to challenge the Sealy Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Robinson comes in on 21 and Sealy on 14.
Robinson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gateway College Preparatory, sneaking past 4-3. That's two games straight that the Rockets have won by just one run.
Kaygen Marshall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Isabelle Mathis also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Ten must be Sealy's lucky number: they beat Caldwell with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Tigers beat the Hornets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won 14 matches by nine runs or more so far this season.
Charlee Ramos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Sealy let Kara Kram13 and Avery Grigar run wild. Kram13 got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base, while Grigar went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Grigar is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Caylee Syzdek, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sealy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in 13 consecutive contests.
Sealy pushed their record up to 24-5 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Robinson, their record now sits at 28-2.
Both Robinson and Sealy just can't seem to miss. The Rockets have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Sealy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
