Hawthorne is 9-1 against Williston since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 6:10 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Hawthorne sitting on three straight wins and Williston on 18 (dating back to last season).
Even though P.K. Yonge scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Hawthorne still came out on top. Hawthorne took their game against P.K. Yonge 69-59.
CJ Ingram had a dynamite game for Hawthorne, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 14 rebounds. The matchup was Ingram 's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alvon Isaac, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Williston was able to grind out a solid win over Greenforest on Friday, taking the game 55-48. Given Williston's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked seventh in Florida, while Greenforest is ranked 47th in Georgia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hawthorne's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Williston, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
