North's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over the Valley Christian Academy Lions. The Stars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Mollie McKinley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Kaylee Simkins looked comfortable as she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
Back at the plate, North got a massive performance out of Allison Jauregui, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. That's the most runs Jauregui has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Cordova, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

North's win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-3. As for Valley Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North will square off against Santa Maria at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. North is facing Santa Maria at the right time seeing as Santa Maria is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Valley Christian Academy, they will face off against Laton at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
