The Hancock County Hornets suffered their biggest  loss since November 30, 2023 on Thursday. They were the victim of a  tough 72-46 loss at the hands of Owensboro. While losing is never fun, Hancock County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings  (they are ranked 140th, while Owensboro is ranked 37th).
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Owensboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Unique Carter-Swanagan, who  scored 15 points along with eight  assists and three  steals. That's the first time this season that  Carter-Swanagan  posted eight or more   assists. The team also got some help courtesy of  Shalyn Sprinkles, who  scored 18 points along with four  steals.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Hancock County and  nudges their season record down to 7-12. As for Owensboro, their victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 13-6.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hancock County will take on Frederick Fraize at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. Frederick Fraize has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. As for Owensboro, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Henderson County at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
