The Osage Indians pushed their score all the way to 57 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Versailles on the road by a decisive 73-57 margin. While losing is never fun, Osage can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while Versailles is ranked 31st).
It was another big night for Ryder Williams, who scored 36 points along with nine rebounds for Versailles. The matchup was Williams' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Albrecht, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Osage bumped their record down to 2-3 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Versailles, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Osage will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Knob Noster at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st. As for Versailles, they will head out on the road to face off against Smith-Cotton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Smith-Cotton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
