Even though the Rich Rebels have not done well against the Manila Mustangs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Rich strolled past the Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 67-51. The victory was familiar territory for Rich who now have four in a row.
Rich got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaden Desch out in front who scored 19 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Desch has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ridge Lundgren, who scored 12 points along with five assists and four steals.
Rich has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Manila, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rich will challenge the Rangers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in their respective states (Kemmerer is ranked 46th in Wyoming, while the Rebels are ranked 60th in Utah). As for Manila, they will head out on the road to square off against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tabiona is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.3 points per game this season.
