The Independence Falcons posted their biggest win since November 18, 2023 on Friday. They put the hurt on Stockdale with a sharp 54-28 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Independence has posted against Stockdale since January 8, 2016.
Independence was led to victory by Olivia Fletcher and Kaylynn Bolden. Fletcher scored 17 points along with seven steals, while Bolden dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds. Bolden has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Victoria Castaneda was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Independence's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Stockdale, they bumped their record down to 2-15 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road.
Independence will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Bakersfield Christian at 5:45 p.m. Bakersfield Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 271 points over their last four matches. As for Stockdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Garces Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Garces Memorial comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
