De Anza will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Encinal at De Anza High School at 4:30 PM. It might come down to the wire as the game is expected to be close.
Everything went De Anza's way against El Cerrito last Friday as they made off with a 32-6 win. The De Anza offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.
Meanwhile, Encinal found themselves the relunctant recipients of an unpleasant 6-28 punch to the gut against Analy last week.
De Anza's victory lifted them to 1-1 while Encinal's loss dropped them down to 0-2. We'll find out if De Anza can add another positive mark to their record or if Encinal can shake off the loss and take the spring out of De Anza's step.
