Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Independence). Everything went their way against Midland Trail on Friday as they made off with a 20-0 win. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Andrew Coalson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Independence's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-9-1 when he doesn't).
