Eastwood is 8-2 against Genoa Area since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Eagles will welcome the Comets at 12:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Eastwood's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Genoa Area has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
On Friday, Eastwood beat Lake 6-2.

MacKenzie Hady was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jenna Lubash was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Addison Bowe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Genoa Area had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Rossford with a sharp 16-4 win on Wednesday. The Comets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Makayla Magrum spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.
At the plate, Genoa Area got a massive performance out of Emersen Bickel, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddie Bronowski, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Genoa Area's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Eastwood, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
Eastwood took their victory against Genoa Area in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 26-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Comets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
