Twiggs County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last seven games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the East Laurens Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th. Twiggs County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 526th, while East Laurens is ranked 170th).
On Friday, Twiggs County was beaten by Hawkinsville 56-26. Twiggs County has not had much luck with Hawkinsville recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, East Laurens waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They secured a 63-58 W over Dublin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Twiggs County's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-23. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.7 points per game. As for East Laurens, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
Twiggs County took a serious blow against East Laurens in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 72-11. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Twiggs County was down 43-6.
