At the plate, Boulder Creek saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Tsau, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Another was Mason Meyer, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Pinnacle ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Liberty 5-4.
Alex Korbesmeyer tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sam Green, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Pinnacle is 4-1 when Green posts two or more runs, but 7-10-1 otherwise. Raul Escobar was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Pinnacle's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 11-11-1. As for Boulder Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.
Boulder Creek suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Pinnacle when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
