Boiling Springs is 2-8 against Spartanburg since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Boiling Springs Bulldogs will head out to take on the Spartanburg Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, Boiling Springs came up short against Dorman and fell 49-36. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 25th).

Boiling Springs' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Karina Tsisun, who posted seven points along with nine boards and seven blocks, and Benaijah Lowrance, who earned two points and nine rebounds. Those seven blocks gave Tsisun a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Spartanburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 65-51 fall against Riverside. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly 14 points.
Boiling Springs will have to keep a close watch on De'Asia Bridges and Kamryn Sainvil, a pair of players who had a big impact on Spartanburg's prior game. Bridges dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Sainvil went 6 of 14 on her way to 18 points and four steals. Sainvil's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Azaria Sims, who had nine points and three steals.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Boiling Springs has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 37.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Spartanburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Boiling Springs came up short against Spartanburg when the teams last played back in February, falling 49-38. Thankfully for Boiling Springs, Genesis Young-Flucker (who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
