After a string of eight wins, Holbrook's good fortune finally ran out  on Tuesday. They came up short against  the Westport Wildcats, falling  45-23. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won  42-31.
Holbrook's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Ashya Dingle, who  posted five  points and eight  boards. Another player making a difference was  Makayla Hopkins, who  had  no points and 13  rebounds.
 Even though they lost, Holbrook  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 18  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least eight  offensive rebounds in ten consecutive  matchups.
Holbrook's  defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Westport, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-1.
 Holbrook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  46-39  loss against Wareham on the 30th. Westport has also already played their next  game (against Reading Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
