After two lead changes,
Keller Central (Keller, Texas) took the lead for good when
Hunter Morrow ran for a touchdown with 2:00 remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat
Lamar (Arlington, Texas) 27-20 on Saturday.
The Vikings pulled ahead on a field goal by
Kyle Derrough, and subsequently went into halftime leading 13-10. The Chargers scored the winning points with a touchdown run by Morrow that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 10 points in the third, Keller Central still trailed by 7 points going into the fourth quarter. But seven points in the fourth helped KC pull out the victory.
Morrow was the top performer for the Keller school. The junior ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown.
Lamar's
Cole Hadley was the standout player for his team. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown.
The loss comes after Lamar defeated Nimitz 67-17 last week.
In a 5A Region I District 4 game next week Keller Central (2-1) takes on Carroll, and Lamar (1-3) will go up against North Crowley in a 5A Region I District 3 game.
