The West Linn Lions will face off against the Mountainside Mavericks at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. West Linn is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
West Linn is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: Aloha, who was ranked 21st at the time (West Linn was ranked third). The Lions were the clear victors by a 23-5 margin over the Warriors on Friday. Considering the Lions have won five matchups by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Olivia Hart looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Emily Sakys was a standout: she went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Piper Ruthrauff was another key player, firing off two home runs and five RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
West Linn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .683. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aloha only posted an OBP of .308.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Mountainside was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Sherwood, falling 10-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mavericks have suffered since May 8, 2024.
Mountainside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Gaoiran, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Mountainside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for West Linn, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Mountainside's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Linn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .406. It's a different story for Mountainside, though, as they've only averaged .246. Will they be able to contain West Linn's hitters?
West Linn was able to grind out a solid win over Mountainside in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 5-0. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mavericks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
