Jesuit put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Everything went their way against King as Jesuit made off with a 75-50 victory. Given Jesuit's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while King is ranked 363rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jesuit relied on the efforts of Tyler Caouette, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, and Nate Boakye, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Boakye is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. Morty Hanlon was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Tampa Catholic scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 97-72 margin over George Jenkins. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Colby Cannizzaro, who went 8 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 37 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Campbell-Finch, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists.
Jesuit is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Tampa Catholic, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Boakye and Campbell-Finch. Boakye has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 18.1 points, 3.8 steals, and 3.5 assists. For his part, Campbell-Finch has averaged 23 points, 2.4 steals, and 4.6 assists.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Jesuit hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 63.8 points per game. It's a different story for Tampa Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 68.8 points per game. The only thing between Jesuit and another offensive beatdown is Tampa Catholic.
