The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Mead Hall Episcopal School came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 235th in South Carolina, while Augusta Prep Day is ranked 475th in Georgia).
Mead Hall Episcopal School's loss came despite strong showings from Anne Fenton Massie and Abbe Stanley. Massie scored nine points along with six rebounds, while Stanley scored five points.
This is the second loss in a row for Mead Hall Episcopal School and nudges their season record down to 1-8. As for Augusta Prep Day, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
Mead Hall Episcopal School will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Augusta Prep Day at 6:15 p.m. Augusta Prep Day is hoping to put an end to a 16-game streak of away losses. They won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Edmund Burke Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Edmund Burke Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Saturday.
