The Cheyenne Wells Tigers came tearing into Saturday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 47-37 victory over Swink.
Cheyenne Wells was led to victory by Corey Hill and Carson Noe. Hill dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, while Noe dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Hill is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Dickey, who scored eight points.
Cheyenne Wells' victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Swink, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Cheyenne Wells will be playing in front of their home fans against Cheraw at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cheraw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Swink, they will head out on the road to square off against Walsenburg at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
