Liberty Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 642nd, while Mintz Christian Academy is ranked 176th).
Liberty Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 57-30 to Christ the Cornerstone Academy, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty Christian Academy in their matchups with Christ the Cornerstone Academy: they've now lost eight in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Bryan Bunnells, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew (AJ) Barrett, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Mintz Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Grace Christian 75-45 at home. The victory was just what Mintz Christian Academy needed coming off of a 63-36 loss in their prior match.
Liberty Christian Academy's loss was their eighth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Mintz Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Liberty Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 56-22 defeat at the hands of Mintz Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2023. Can Liberty Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
