It was a good run, but the Mary Walker Chargers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Inchelium by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Mary Walker has suffered yet this season.
Mary Walker lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andru Pinyan, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Pinyan continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Lawrence, who scored seven points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Mary Walker's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Inchelium, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Mary Walker and Selkirk will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Selkirk is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Inchelium on the road again on Wednesday and play against Wellpinit at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. One thing working in Wellpinit's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
