Bishop Carroll has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Central Cambria Red Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Bishop Carroll is ranked 274th, while Central Cambria is ranked 273rd).
Bishop Carroll pushed their score all the way to 71 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 81-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Forest Hills. Bishop Carroll found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up 14 fewer assists than your opponent.
Luke Repko put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Alexander, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Central Cambria was able to grind out a solid victory over Huntingdon last Friday, taking the game 64-53.
Grady Snyder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 34 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Connor Serenko was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists and four steals.
Bishop Carroll has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Central Cambria, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Tuesday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Repko and Snyder. Repko has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 22.4 points, 4 steals, and 1.2 blocks. For his part, Snyder has averaged 18.6 points, 2 steals, and 5.6 rebounds.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Bishop Carroll hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 66 points per game. It's a different story for Central Cambria, though, as they've been averaging only 53.9 points per game. The only thing between Bishop Carroll and another offensive beatdown is Central Cambria.
