Basketball Recap: Strom Thurmond Drops Season-High Score on Ninety Six

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Strom Thurmond). They enjoyed a cozy 53-37 win over the Ninety Six Wildcats on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Rebels also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2016.

Despite the loss, Ninety Six still got an impressive performance from Janiyah Squire, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 54.1% of Ninety Six's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Tatiana Roper was another key player, putting up nine points.

Strom Thurmond's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Ninety Six, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Pelion the next time they take the court. Strom Thurmond will head out to face Pelion at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while Ninety Six will head out to face them at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
