Maine East hadn't done well against Hersey recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Blue Demons had just enough and edged out the Huskies 2-1. This was payback for the Blue Demons, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The victory made it two in a row for Maine East and bumps their season record up to 9-8. As for Hersey, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coming up, Maine East will be playing at home against Joliet West at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers are coming into the matchup with four straight wins on the road, so the Blue Demons will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Hersey, they will challenge Elk Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
