This season hasn't been kind to the Saddleback Roadrunners, who are still winless after their sixth match. Their  tough  42-20 defeat to Whittier Christian  on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Saddleback can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings  (they are ranked 765th, while Whittier Christian is ranked 185th).
 Whittier Christian got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Zoe Sanborn out in front who  dropped  a double-double on 18 points and 11  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Ariana Botello, who  scored 12 points along with 4  steals.
 Saddleback's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Whittier Christian, the  victory was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
 Saddleback will head out on the road to face off against Rancho Alamitos at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Rancho Alamitos comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the  team is of course eager to reverse. As for Whittier Christian, they will be playing at home against Bellflower at 7:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
