The North Kissimmee Christian Lions waltzed into their contest on Thursday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 69-62 win over International Community. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
International Community's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paxton Boaz, who scored 17 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Philips, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
North Kissimmee Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for International Community, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
North Kissimmee Christian will look to defend their home court on Friday against Liberty Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. Liberty Christian Prep is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. International Community won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Real Life Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Real Life Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday.
