The East Gaston Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Burns Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
East Gaston is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Shelby on Friday as East Gaston made off with a 20-2 win. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Golden Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Parker Stafford and Seth Massey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Stafford didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Massey pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Stafford gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Stafford scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Massey scored three runs. Those four hits gave Stafford a new career-high.

The dominant performance also gave Barnette a new career-high in doubles (two). Dylan Wright was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
East Gaston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Burns entered their tilt with Bessemer City on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Yellow Jackets get on the board and left with a 21-0 win.
Burns pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for East Gaston, their record now sits at 8-5.
East Gaston might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Burns in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can East Gaston avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
