Buchanan saw some tournament action  on Saturday. They fell just short of the Casteel Colts by a score of  2-1. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
 Keira Nelson paced Buchanan's offense, picking up nine kills. Nelson got some help from  Avery Dedekian and her 12 assists.  Kendall Spees controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
 Casteel was led to victory by  Isabel Penrose and  Daycee Pierce.  Penrose  had 17  digs and one  assist, while  Pierce  had five  digs and two  aces. That's the most  digs  Penrose has posted since back in September.  Ella Witte also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first assists of the season.
Buchanan's loss dropped their record down to 27-7. As for Casteel, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record  this season.
 Buchanan will head out on the road to  take on  Clovis East  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Casteel, they will be playing at home against Xavier College Prep  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
