It was a good run, but The Mount Horeb/Barneveld Vikings unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Notre Dame Academy 26-21.
Despite the loss, Mount Horeb/Barneveld still got an impressive performance from Trenton Owens, who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 54 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Christopher Kiel, who picked up 94 receiving yards.
Mount Horeb/Barneveld's loss dropped their record down to 11-1. As for Notre Dame Academy, their victory was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 11-1.
Mount Horeb/Barneveld does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Notre Dame Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against Rice Lake. Rice Lake has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 494 points over their last 11 matches.
