The Forest Wildcats will face off against the South Lake Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Forest easily dispatched DeLand on Wednesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wildcats fell just short of Lake Minneola by a score of 6-4 on Friday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jaiden Prestipino was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Rilynn Fountain, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, South Lake posted their closest victory since April 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Tavares 2-1.

Zoie Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits.

At the plate, South Lake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Stone, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

South Lake is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Forest hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like South Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
