The Woodland Wolverines lost against the Barnwell Warhorses back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Woodland fell to Barnwell 31-27. Woodland has struggled against Barnwell recently, as their contest on Monday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Cameron Austin was on fire for Barnwell: he rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 174 yards and a touchdown. Austin is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played. Jaquan Peeples did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards.
Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Barnwell, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.
Woodland will head out on the road to face off against Edisto at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Edisto is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Barnwell, they will be playing at home against Hampton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hampton County will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
