It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Savanna Rebels can now relate to. They fell just short of the Tornados by a score of 72-70. Savanna's loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.
Savanna's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dontey Henderson, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was James Lee, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Savanna's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9. As for Hoover, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.
Savanna does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hoover is on the road again on Friday and plays San Bernardino at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hoover has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests.
