The Royal Palm Beach Wildcats's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 62-61 win over Treasure Coast. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jayden Coney was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Carlos Canales was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Treasure Coast still got an impressive performance from Tyson Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 rebounds. Wilson hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Bek Fleurissaint, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Royal Palm Beach has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Treasure Coast, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Royal Palm Beach's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seminole Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. Seminole Ridge has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8. As for Treasure Coast, they will head out on the road to take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Centennial is ranked 81st, while Treasure Coast is ranked 91st).
