After a string of seven wins, the Harlan Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a tough 63-41 loss at the hands of Brennan. Harlan has not had much luck with Brennan recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Harlan still got an impressive performance from Alexa Romero, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ke'yanna Gupton, who scored four points.
Taylor Ross was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 17 rebounds for Brennan. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ross has scored all season. Bella Flemings was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Harlan's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-9. As for Brennan, their win was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-3.
Harlan will take on O'Connor at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. O'Connor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 269th, while Harlan is ranked 117th). As for Brennan, they will head out on the road to face off against Taft at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Taft is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
