The Landmark Christian War Eagles entered their tilt with the Redan Raiders with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Landmark Christian enjoyed a cozy 37-20 win over Redan on Friday. Given Landmark Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 199th, while Redan is ranked 481st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Landmark Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Melody Painter, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nikolette Soden, who scored seven points.
Landmark Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. As for Redan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Eagle's Landing Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Redan will host Eagle's Landing Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Landmark Christian will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
