The North Kissimmee Christian Lions waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They snuck past Celebration with a 67-61 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Storm players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ricardo Baro, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Baro continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendley Jean, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Celebration smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
North Kissimmee Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Celebration, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-11.
North Kissimmee Christian will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Bridge to Independence at 6:00 p.m. Bridge to Independence is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.5 points per game. Celebration won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Santa Fe at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. Santa Fe has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
