Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in prep basketball. America's source for high school sports continues the tradition to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence, in addition to local and state accolades.
Each state's MaxPreps Player of the Year will be considered for inclusion in the MaxPreps All-America Team, which is scheduled to be released in April. Read on for a look at the postseason honors schedule and POYs in all 50 states.

The Grizzlies went 22-5 and won a third straight Class 3A state championship as the UC Davis commit averaged 21.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.0 steals and
2.3 assists per game.

Capped career with an Open Division title as the Tigers went 25-6. The North Carolina State commit averaged 20.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 3.1 assists per game.

Helped the Grizzlies to a 28-5 record and Class 6A title, averaging 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.7 steals per game. Headed to Colorado, Gooden tallied 1,902 points, 793 rebounds, 420 assists and 314 steals in her high school career.
