Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Pee Dee Academy walked away with it. They came out on top against the Spartanburg Christian Academy Warriors by a score of 37-24 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Eagles sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
It was another big night for Rebecca Hammond, who posted 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Pee Dee Academy's points.
Despite the loss, Spartanburg Christian Academy had strong showings from Emily Robinson, who had ten points and seven boards, and Delaney Caldwell, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds. Caldwell has been hot, having posted ten or more boards the last five times she's played.
Pee Dee Academy's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Spartanburg Christian Academy, they moved to 18-8 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
