The Ursuline Fighting Irish waltzed into Saturday's game with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 70-60 win over Canfield. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ursuline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Payne, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Bell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Ursuline's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Canfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Ursuline's road trip will continue as they head out to face Harding at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Canfield, they will be playing at home against Chaney at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
