McClain hasn't had much luck against Hillsboro recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers will welcome the Indians at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Thursday, McClain beat North Adams 7-4.

Brie Cummins was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Cummins was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Olivia Stegbauer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Milla Everetts was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
McClain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .414 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Hillsboro had just enough and edged out Notre Dame 3-1 on Thursday.
Hillsboro's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for McClain, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. McClain has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .440. However, it's not like Hillsboro struggles in that department as they've averaged .463. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McClain suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Hillsboro in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
