The Springfield Spartans lost against the Southeast Pirates back in December of 2014, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Springfield ended up on the wrong side of a rough 50-27 walloping at the hands of Southeast. While losing is never fun, Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Southeast is ranked 123rd).
Sydney Hillyard was Springfield's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Hillyard also led the team in rebounds with eight.
Taylor Holmes took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Springfield now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Southeast, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Springfield will head out on the road to face off against Coventry at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southeast, they will be playing at home against Newton Falls at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday.
