Basketball Game Preview: Valley Patriots vs. Paducah Dragons

Valley has gone 7-0 against Paducah recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Valley Patriots are taking a road trip to face off against the Paducah Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Valley will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Valley made easy work of Guthrie and carried off a 53-32 win. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 games by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Corbin Taylor, who went 11 for 12 on his way to 25 points in addition to six boards and three steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kanyon Taylor was another key player, putting up nine points along with six rebounds and five blocks.

Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 24 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paducah). They enjoyed a cozy 92-75 victory over Motley County on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on four straight.

Paducah has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points per game. As for Valley, they pushed their record up to 23-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Everything came up roses for Valley against Paducah in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-36 win. Does Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Paducah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
