The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amelia Academy in their matchups with Fuqua: they've now lost six in a row.
Isabella Arbitelle and Macy Barnard certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Arbitelle scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Barnard scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That was a full 57.9% of Amelia Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Amelia Academy dropped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.9 points per game. As for Fuqua, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-8.
Amelia Academy on the road again on Wednesday and play against Southampton Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Fuqua, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kenston Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
