It was a good run, but the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 51-17 loss at the hands of West Florida Baptist Academy. Gulf Pointe Latin has struggled against West Florida Baptist Academy recently, as their game on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Holland Hamer was Gulf Pointe Latin's leading scorer, having posted six points. Hamer also led the team in rebounds with 11.
Jacqueline Schnieders took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
West Florida Baptist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makenna Enfinger, who scored eight points along with three steals. Enfinger is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Olivia Pearce was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Gulf Pointe Latin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.
Gulf Pointe Latin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Florida Baptist Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Central Christian at 3:00 p.m. on February 16th. Central Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
