If the Great Plains Lutheran Panthers were feeling good off their 62-32 takedown of the Wilmot Wolves last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Great Plains Lutheran's tough 69-45 loss to the Cardinals on Saturday might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Great Plains Lutheran in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Great Plains Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Madeline Prahl, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Prahl has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Abby Kjenstad, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.
Great Plains Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Arlington, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Great Plains Lutheran will square off against the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Arlington is on the road again on Monday and plays the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. St. Mary is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Cardinals a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
